This special exhibition, “Dr. Matilda A. Evans: The Life of A Trailblazer,” honors the first African American woman licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
Through rare photographs and historical documents, you’ll walk through the incredible story of a woman who was a physician, a pioneer for public health, and a champion for civil rights.
