Voices of Courage-Stories of Black South Carolinians

The Voices of Courage event, organized by the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, is a significant cultural event that celebrates the courage of Black South Carolinians. The event will take place on August 8, 2026, at the SC Archives & History Center in Columbia, SC. Registration is open for $10.00 per person and $5.00 for students, with pre-registration highly recommended. The event is sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, the South Carolina African American Heritage Commission, and South Carolina Humanities. It aims to honor the stories of individuals who have fought against systemic oppression and worked towards a better future for their community.
